  • Step 1

    Complete the online application

  • Step 2

    The Membership Committee will contact you to arrange an in-person interview.

  • Step 3

    Required to pass a criminal background check ..

  • Step 4

    Complete a physical examination by a licensed NJ Physician or healthcare provider

  • Step 5

    Receive Municipal Approval from the Barnegat Township Committee to become a probationary member of the Barnegat Fire Company

  • Step 6

    Non-certified probationary firefighters are required to enroll in the Fire Academy and complete Firefighter 1 certification within one year of membership approval.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum age of 18
  • Pass a background check
  • Be in good physical condition
  • Must attend Firefighter 1 basic training within one year of joining
  • Be able to respond to calls both day & night when available
  • Attend monthly trainings,meetings and 2 fundraisers per year
