The Barnegat Vol. Fire Co. answered 652 calls during the year. This averages to about 1.78 calls per day. This was our highest year ever !
Between Sunday June 23rd and Monday June 24th, The Barnegat Fire Co. responded to numerous calls for assistance. Sunday evening, a torrential thunder storm ripped through our area resulting in a lightning strike and several fire alarm activations. On Monday, a power outage produced numerous calls from fire alarm activations, traffic details due to traffic control signals being out as well as an elevator rescue. All in a days work from your neighbors at Station 11.
On Saturday May 25th, Station 11 responded to a working structure fire in the Settler's section of the township. Upon arrival, Chief 1100 establised command. Ladder 11-15 was first due truck and stretched 1 handline into the structure. 11-03 responded 2nd due and established a water supply. Heavy smoke and fire was found in the laundry/kitchen area and was knocked down. Overhaul operations continued late into the incident. The structure suffered significant fire & smoke damage. The Barnegat Vol Fire Co. ended 2023 with 588 calls. That's one of our biggest years since Hurricane Sandy. We look forward to serving you in 2024. Happy New Year !
